"TSP" stands for Traveler Service Point and the "R" stands for Rating. TSP is the acronym given to any location or business used to service the traveler while on his or her journey. TSP constitutes the key components of the Total Transportation Network Solution (TTNS) and is a critical attribute to linking the Traveler and Transportation systems together. Examples of other TSP’s include Bus Stations, Sea Ports, Train Stations, Hotels, etc…

The TSP-R for U.S. Airports was designed to rate airports on how well they:

  • Provide Service and Coverage for Cellular, 802.11b Wireless LAN, and Phone Data Ports within 200 feet of each departure or arrival gate.
  • Handle Capacity issues relating to Runways, Flight Delays, and other key attributes.
  • Ease of access, security, parking and other related attributes limiting inconvenience to the Business Traveler.

The rating system is an algorithm incorporating specific needs of the Business Traveler as well as Business Continuance. Business Continuance describes…In other words a Business Traveler should be able to count on time spent waiting in an Airport as productive time.
